How to Decorate a Locket Game

Lockets make great gifts because they can act as pieces of jewelry and as keepsakes with pictures inside. Some one-fashioned lockets are very plain, so if you have a few old lockets and want to do a fun craft game, you can have a decorating party or explore your creativity in a solo project.

Things You'll Need

  • Locket
  • Jewelry craft adhesive
  • Small gemstones or beads
  • Game spinner (optional)

Instructions

    • 1

Place your jewelry adhesive, lockets and decorative gems and beads in the center of a table. Decide if you will be decorating the lockets yourself or if you will play with others. Distribute lockets to each person that will be decorating.

    • 2

Have everyone choose their decorative pieces on their own or use the game spinner to determine how many pieces each player can choose from the central pile. Take turns going around a circle choosing pieces until each player has enough to cover their locket.

    • 3

Use the jewelry adhesive to attach these decorative pieces to the lockets in different designs. One example would be to place a large stone in the center of the locket and surround the edges with several tiny stones that match. Another idea could be to make a tie-dye effect by gluing gems of random colors sporadically over the face of the locket.

Let the lockets dry and have a neutral judge rank the final projects based on creativity and presentation to determine a "winner" of the game. Then, enjoy wearing or gifting your new creations.
