How do I Make a WWE Ring Out of a Trampoline?

Backyard wrestling became popular in the 90s and has continued to gain in popularity ever since. As people continue to watch WWE and other televised wrestling or fighting events, their interest in having a personal ring becomes all the more likely. According to "Pro Wrestling Kids' Style: The Amazing Untold Story in Professional Wrestling," by Shawn Crossen, "these days, small-time wrestling leagues that involve kids are basically a dime a dozen." Before you set up your own WWE-style ring using a trampoline, it's important to keep safety concerns in mind. Never attempt the same stunts as the professional wrestlers on TV, as doing so risks personal injury for you and your friends or family.

Instructions

    • 1

Set up four shovels at diagonals to the trampoline. Shove the end of each one end to the ground so that only the handle is protruding. The handle should extend above the side of the trampoline to form the ring posts.

    • 2

Mark two spots on each handle where you'd like the ropes for the ring to go. Pull the shovels out of the ground and drill small holes at each point. You'll want at least two on each pole to loop your bungee cords in or your rope.

    • 3

Cover each handle with a large cardboard tube from wrapping paper. Line up the tube so its top reaches just over the top of the handle.

    • 4

Tape down the bottom end of the tube to the shovel using duct tape to close off the bottom opening. Fill the empty portion of the tube around the shovel handle with Styrofoam peanuts for padding.

    • 5

Place the shovels back in the ground and attach your bungee cords (or rope depending on what's available). Loop the cords from one shovel to another forming a rope for the ring. Do two on each handle.

    • 6

Wrap a large pillow around the inner portion of each pole for added protection. Duct tape the pillow into place around the pole.

    • 7

Climb into the ring when you're ready to wrestle. Always wear a helmet for protection. Any sort of bike helmet or sports helmet will do.
