Cornhole
The classic cornhole game is designed for two players or four players in teams of two. You need eight cornhole bags and two raised cornhole boards or platforms to play, which you can buy or make. The goal of the game is to toss as many cornhole bags into the hole as possible. Each team or player has four throws each round. Have someone keep scores. A direct hit earns three points, a bag landing on the board earns one point and a bag on the ground earns zero points. The winner of each round scores a point. If the scores are equal, both teams score zero for that round. The winner of the game is the first team to reach 21 points.
Corn Toss Relay
This game is best played outdoors at a fall picnic or barbecue. Divide players into teams of five or six and have them line up at a starting line. At the word "Go!" the first player runs to a pile of corn cobs placed about 10 feet away. She then has to toss one at a bucket placed a further 10 feet away, trying to get it inside. Have one bucket for each team. She runs back to her team and the next player takes a turn. The first team to finish scores five points, with an extra point added for each corn cob in the bucket. The team with the most points wins. Use old or damaged corn cobs for this game.
Candy Corn Toss
Children will enjoy playing this version of the corn toss game. Divide players into teams of four or five. Provide a plastic Halloween trick-or-treat bucket for each team. Make holes in the top of the bucket to thread ribbon or string through and tie it around the waist of one player from each team. The rest of his team must line up about 8 feet away from him and toss pieces of candy corn at his bucket. He is allowed to move to try and catch them in the bucket, but cannot use his hands. Give each player five pieces of candy corn to toss. When everyone has had a turn, count up the pieces of corn in the buckets. The team with the most in its bucket wins.
Corncob Darts
You play this game outdoors. Make corncob darts from dry corncobs. Insert feathers into the end of the cobs and secure in place with a hot glue gun. Hang a hula hoop target up from a tree or any other suitable hanging frame. Play against an opponent or in teams to compete for the most cobs thrown through the hoop. Older players can play with a smaller hoop to make it more difficult. Score one point for each cob to make it through the hoop, and play until the winner scores 21 points.
