How to Print Designs on Computer Name Tags

You may think that name tags are only for dull business conferences or corny speed-dating events, but think back to your last big party. How much time did you spend running around, introducing people who did not know each other? You may have felt frazzled by the end of the night, having spent most of your evening worrying that certain guests had no one to talk to. Next time, print a name tag for each guest. Include a cute design, and maybe even a fun factoid about that person to help others break the ice on their own.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase or download a word processing program that offers a labels template. Open the program and choose to begin a new document, and then select the labels format. Go to the menu of your program that controls the page layout.

    • 2

Choose the size of the page that corresponds to the size of the paper in your printer. Make sure all of the labels, which will be the name tags, still fit onto the page. Perform a print preview if you are unsure; this will show you exactly how the page will print and if you need to remove any name tags that will not fit fully.

    • 3

Use graphics included in your word processing program or clip art from the Internet to decorate each name tag. Consider using a simple corner embellishment or border and avoid taking up too much space. Type the correct name onto each name tag and move the text and decoration around until the name tag is legible but aesthetically appealing.

Print the sheets of name tags onto adhesive-backed paper. Wait a few minutes for the ink on each page to dry, since the ink of some printers may smear if touched immediately after printing. Cut apart the name tags and peel and stick each one where you wish.
