Puppy Games for Little Girls

Many little girls love puppies, so it may not come as any surprise when you daughter wants to have a puppy dog party or social gathering with her friends. Games create an exciting environment for children and help build social skills. Entice the girls to play the games and try their best by awarding puppy-themed prizes, such as stickers, jewelry and plush toys, to game winners.
  1. Scavenger Hunts

    • Paint several dog bones with pink and purple acrylic paint. Give the bones time to dry overnight. Hide the bones around the play area. The girls can have a scavenger hunt to see who can find the most girly dog bones. For another idea, tie purple and pink ribbons around the bones instead of using paint. Another idea for the hunt is to split the girls into teams and have each team work together to find the bones. The team who finds the most bones wins the game.

    Messy Games

    • If you have girls who do not mind getting wet or dirty, play a couple of messy games outside. Place a small bowl of water on the ground for each girl. Have the girls get on all fours in front of the bowls of water. When you say, "Drink," the girls must drink the water without using any hands, like a dog. The first girl to drink all of the water wins the game. For another messy game, place a candy dog bone on a plate. Candy dog bones are available online and at many candy stores. Make one plate for each girl and cover the bones with whipped cream for added messy fun. The first girl to find the candy bone and eat it wins the game.

    Puppy Obstacle Course

    • Create two identical obstacle courses with boards, ropes, upright hula hoops and chairs. Divide the girls into two teams and have them line up at a starting line. The girls have to run the course on all fours like a dog by jumping over boards, crawling under the chairs, hopping through hoops and balancing on boards. The first team to complete the obstacle course wins the game. If you only have enough supplies for one course, time each girl and the girl with the fastest time wins the game.

    Tossing Games

    • Print a picture of a puppy and tape it on the bottom of a cardboard box. Cut the mouth of the dog out and lean the box picture-side-out against a wall. Mark a line six feet from the box. Have the girls try to toss dog bones in the puppy's mouth. Award a small prize to each girl who makes a bone in the puppy's mouth, and a bigger one for the girl who gets the most in. For another tossing game, have the girls select a partner. Give each pair a dog bone and a pail. One girl must hold the pail, while her partner tries to toss the bone into it. Have the partners stand five feet apart. When you say "Toss," the girls must try to toss the bone into the pail. If they catch it, they are still in the game and must take a giant step backwards. If they miss it, they are out of game. The partners who can toss the bone from the farthest distance and catch it win the game.
