Scavenger Hunt
Go with your first instinct and plan a scavenger hunt for you and your friends to attend. Scavenger hunts can be small and played by one group of people, or you can search your community to find out if there is a city- or county-wide scavenger hunt near you; just call your local city hall for information. The scavenger hunt is a list of random items that a person or group must find the quickest. The list is completed by one person and will contain both common and odd items that are hard to find. Many scavenger hunts are theme-based, such as a mall scavenger hunt, a treasure hunt scavenger hunt or a neighborhood scavenger hunt.
Laser Tag
Skip the scavenger hunt and find a laser tag establishment that you and your friends can rent for a few hours. Laser tag is a form of hunting, similar to a scavenger hunt, where one team is a specific color and another team is a different color. The two teams play against each other in a dark room filled with obstacles to hide behind such as foam walls and fake trees. The point of the game is to "tag" the opposing team with your laser to eliminate it from play. The first team to eliminate the other team is the winner.
Dinner Theater
Schedule a date night with your closest friends to attend a dinner theater. Dinner theaters are put on by older, mansion-like homes or hotels that are typically claimed to be "haunted." Guests must make reservations in advance so they understand the rules of the game. Once you make a reservation you are invited to a sit-down dinner and you are assigned a character. During the dinner you will watch a play be performed by a group of actors, one of the actors will "die," and it is up to you, your friends and the other guests to figure out who killed the person. You or one of your friends could be the prime suspect, but you have to search through the mansion, watching your back, to find clues as to who killed the person in the play, similar to searching for objects in a scavenger hunt. Whoever figures out who killed the person is the winner.
Paintball
Paintball, like laser tag, is a game of hunting. Gather your friends and head outside to the great outdoors to go paintballing. Locate different paintball companies and make a reservation for your group of friends. Once you arrive you will be given a vest to wear with the color of your team, a helmet and a paintball gun complete with additional paintballs. The object of the game is to eliminate the other team by hitting its players with paintballs. The paintball field will consist of several acres of ground filled with natural hiding places, such as trees, rocks, hills and the occasional hay bale. The first team to eliminate the other team is the winner.
