Photo Hunt
Split the group into several smaller groups of two to three girls. Be sure each small group has a digital camera. In this game, the participants must take pictures of the things on their lists in order to win the game. When creating the scavenger hunt list, be sure there are several easy items to find as well as some that are more challenging. A few examples of things to include on a picture scavenger hunt might be a picture of a rubber ducky, a picture of the number 99, a picture of a Dad or a picture of a picnic table.
Puzzling House Hunt
If your party needs to stay contained in a home, try this simple scavenger hunt possibility. Before the party, hide a number of household items in the room where the party will take place. Some fun items to hide might be a hairbrush, a straight iron, a few hair rollers, a makeup bag or a pair of slippers. Make up simple riddles that will lead your party-goers to the hidden items. For example, one clue may state "I am pink. I have bristles. I pull out knots and sometimes I live in your purse. What am I?" Give a prize to the first party guest to find the item and bring it to you.
People Hunt
Similar to the photo hunt, this scavenger hunt will be a lot of fun for older teen girls. Split the group into smaller groups of two to three girls and be sure each team has a digital camera. Create a list of people that the contestants need to take a picture of, as well as a point value for each picture. Give strict instructions to the participants that they are only to take pictures of people if they ask first and tell the person that they are participating in a picture scavenger hunt. When creating the list, be sure to only include pictures of people that the teens know well enough to approach and ask for a picture. For example, list the quarterback of the high school football team for 20 points, their biology teacher for 30 points or the younger brother of a participant for five points. When the teams return from the hunt, add up the number of points based on how many pictures they captured and award a prize to the team with the most points. Delete the pictures from the cameras when the game is over.
Alphabet Hunt
For a simple hunt for younger teen girls, try an alphabet hunt. Either have each girl or team of girls collect one item for each letter of the alphabet, or give each team one letter. For example, a group of three girls will be assigned the letter "S" and must find as many objects as they can that begin with the letter "S." Award points and prizes to the team that finds the most objects. Give extra points for creativity.
