Transformer Scavenger Hunt Ideas

"Transformers" began as a children's cartoon that evolved into toys and, more recently, big-budget movies. The Transformers are aliens that have come to Earth. To blend into the surroundings, the Autobots and Decepticons (the two opposing alien species) transform themselves into and back from cars and trucks, and other vehicles. Create a fun Transformers themed scavenger hunt for a birthday party or just to pass the time on free summer afternoon.

Transformer Sticker Scavenger Hunt
- Create a scavenger hunt by using licensed Transformers Stickers. Find Transformer stickers at party supply stores or big box stores. Use index cards to hold the stickers and put one sticker per card. Hide the index cards with the stickers around the room or around the yard. You can allow the players to look for any Transformer or you can assign one Transformer to each player so one player isn't able to find all the cards while another player isn't able to find any. You can give clues as to the index cards' locations or just allow the players to look around until they find the cards.
"Allspark" Scavenger Hunt
- The "Allspark" is a cube that gives the Transformers or any other electronic device, the power to "come alive" and live an independent life from its owner. Send players on a hunt for the Allspark, which can be created by painting a square cardboard box a dull silver color. Hide the box and write out clues, preferably in riddle form, to help lead players to the Allspark. If the players are old enough to read, let them read the clues themselves, but for younger players, read the riddle clues to them and assist them in solving the mystery.
"Energon Cube" Scavenger Hunt
- The Transformers's energy source is called the "Energon Cube" which resembles a sugar cube. Hide real sugar cubes around the yard and tell the players they must find the Energon Cubes. Be sure to hide enough sugar cubes so each player is likely to find more than one to keep the game more fun. Energon Cubes are blue and pink in Transformers canon; create a similar look by dying the sugar cubes with blue or pink food coloring.
Other Transformer Scavenger Hunt Ideas
- There are many different ways to create a Transformers-themed scavenger hunt. Hide small Transformer figure toys around the house or yard and ask the players to find them. You can give clues to the locations of the particular Transformers or allow players to find them on their own. Ask friends to dress in Transformer costumes. Have the "Transformers" hide in an area such as a park, and you can read clues to the players to help them find their whereabouts. Ensure all children are being watched by adults as they play.
