Darts
Darts is just like the carnival game where players try to pop balloons with darts. Blow up several balloons and attach them to a cork board or a wall you don't care about destroying. The person who breaks the most balloons with a set amount of darts is the winner. This is not the best game for little ones since the the darts are sharp and someone may get hurt.
Chair/Bottom Bust
Set up some chairs -- wooden or metal chairs work best -- and blow up several balloons. Have the participants try to pop the balloons by sitting on them. Have a time limit and the determine the winner by the number of balloons successfully broken.
Ballooon Break
If you want a team game, the Boy Scouts of America came up with the Balloon Break Game, which is meant for Cub Scouts. Divide the kids into to teams - one team will defend the balloon and the other will try to pop, or destroy it. Time how long it takes to pop the balloon and switch sides. The team that can destroy the balloon the quickest is the winner.
Stop the Pop
Stop the Pop is just like Balloon Break, but each player is on her own. Connect a balloon to each participants' ankle. The object of the game is to break the other participants' balloons. The last person with an intact balloon wins. This may be a little rough for younger children and is best played indoors.
Prize Balloon
A simple game, but fun if you have coveted prizes or extra party favors to give away. Place small pieces of paper -- with numbers or words with prizes corresponding to them -- and blow up a number of balloons. Have everyone pop their balloons to find out who wins.
