Candy Bowl
Fill a giant bowl with M&Ms or other small candies. Pass the bowl around to guests, and let them know that they must take some candy, and to take whatever they like, but to hold off eating any just yet. Unsuspecting guests may reach in and grab a handful of candies. Once everyone has his candy, announce that for each piece of candy a person has, he has to tell the group a fact about himself or bit of trivia.
Movie Game
Players must take turns thinking of movies and actors. One person will name an actor, and the next player will have to name a movie that actor starred in. The next guest will have to name another star from the same movie, and the fourth player will have to name a movie that person starred in. If you stump the player after you and they can't think of their actor or movie, you get a point. Whoever gets the most points will win the game.
Board Games
Have a stack of old-fashioned board games on hand. Most of your party guests probably can't remember the last time they played Monopoly, Clue or Battleship, but these games can provide a lot of laughs. A group game such as Pictionary or Scattergories can be a good idea too, or divide guests into teams and play Scrabble with your own set of rules.
Relay
For an outdoor function, relay races are perfect for both sexes. Add a twist to the relay to make it more interesting. Make each person hop on one leg or carry something or run with an egg on a spoon. Relate the theme of the relay to the theme of your event somehow. Divide guests into teams, or do males versus females to make it interesting.
