Photo Scavenger Hunt
Teams of about four work best. A Polaroid camera or digital camera is needed as well as a means of transportation. Create a list of places, people or landmarks in the city that the team needs to find. Each team takes a photo with the item on the list. Ideas include a statue, the biggest tree the group can find, a photo with someone famous, a human pyramid, a certain car, a postal worker or fast food worker. Have about 10 items on the list. Set a time limit of about two hours. Make sure people know where to meet when time is up. Give prizes for the most completed list or the most creative photos.
Shoe ID Game
This game works best with at least 10 people. Have guests remove one shoe and place it in a pile in the center of the room. On the count of three, have guests select a shoe that does not belong to them. The object of the game is to find the owner of the shoe. Once the owner is found, gather three pieces of information about the shoe's owner that you did not know before. Once all the shoes' owners have been found, go around the room and have everyone take turns introducing the shoe's owner and give the three new facts you gathered about him.
The Human Knot
Depending on the weather, this game can be played indoors or outdoors. This game is best with roughly 10 to 19 people. Have everyone form a large circle. When you say go, everyone needs to join hands with someone across the circle. The object of the game is for everyone to work together to untangle themselves and form a circle again. Everyone must keep hold of their partner's hands. Some climbing and twisting may be involved to get untangled. Give the group about twenty minutes to untangle themselves.
Two Truths and a Lie
Have the group form a circle. Distribute pen and paper to each member of the circle. Instruct each person to write down two true statements about themselves and one lie. When everyone is ready, each person takes their turn reading out loud to the group the three statements. The rest of the group has to guess which statements are true and which one is false. After the group members have made their guesses, the person reveals which of the statements are true and which one is false. The point of this game is to get to know each other better.
