How to Play Light As a Feather, Stiff As a Board!

A slumber party game played for decades that still fascinates and spooks participants is "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board." Often played while telling ghost stories, this game gives the impression that a person can be levitated with just the mind, further spooking party goers. To make this work, everyone must work together and get into the mood of the game.

Instructions

- 1
  Turn off the lights in the room. This will help set the scene and give you a spookier experience.

  Have one person lay down on the ground flat on his back. This is the person that everyone else will try to levitate. This person levitating should remain as still as possible.

  Spread out the other people who will be performing the levitation equally around the person lying down. For example, if you have four people, one person stands at the head, one person on each side and one person at the feet.

  Place all hands under the person to be levitated. Everyone puts their hands under the person.

  Chant in unison "light as a feather, stiff as a board" repeatedly as everyone lifts up the person. Continue to lift the person until they are at about waist level of the people lifting. Continue the chant and holding the person up. The person should feel light as if they are floating with everyone working together.
