Fun Snowman Games

'Tis the season to host a holiday party and play a few snowman-themed Christmas games. Snowmen are recognizable Christmas icons that are fun to incorporate into holiday games for people of all ages. From a blind snowman drawing game to a game of snowman toss, a few inexpensive supplies and some creativity are all you need to get started.
  1. Blind Snowman Draw

    • Give each player a sheet of white construction paper and a pen or marker. Blindfold the players or have them close their eyes for this game. Tell the players to draw three circles; however, do not tell them they are drawing a snowman. Tell them to draw the first circle at the bottom of the page, the next one above and adjacent to the first one but slightly smaller, and the final circle above that one and smaller still. The players must draw three buttons in the middle circle and stick arms on both sides. The players might guess what they are drawing, but do not tell them. Have them draw two eyes, a mouth and a carrot nose in the smallest circle. Have the players remove the blindfold or open their eyes. The player who has the picture that most resembles a snowman wins the game.

    Toilet Paper Snowman

    • Divide the players into teams of three or four and have each group select one player to be the "snowman." Give each team two rolls of toilet paper, three black construction paper dots (buttons), a black top hat (made from paper is fine) and a piece of triangle orange fabric (the carrot nose). When you say, "Go," the teams must roll the toilet paper around their designated team "snowman." The first team to cover their "snowman" with toilet paper and apply the buttons, carrot nose and top hat wins the game. Use tape to adhere the buttons, carrot nose and top hat to the toilet paper.

    Snowman Relay Race

    • Mark a starting line and finish line about 20 feet apart. Place two laundry baskets on the finish line, each with a pair of mittens, a scarf, a hat and a pair of large rubber boots. Divide the players into two teams and have each team line up at the starting line. When you say, "Race," the first player in each team line must run to a laundry basket and put on all the items. He will run back to the starting line and take off all the items. Then next player in line must put the items on, run to the finish line and back to the starting line to hand off the items to the next player. The first team to finish the race wins the game. For added fun, make an orange carrot nose for each team to wear using orange felt and elastic.

    Snowman Toss

    • Purchase a small, a medium and a large white polystyrene ball. Draw a face on the little one and buttons on the other two. Set up a medium-size bucket or laundry basket in the floor and mark a starting line about 10 feet away (adjust depending on the ages of the players). Each player has to toss all three snowman pieces into the tub to win a prize. Another variation is to have all the players toss the pieces five times, and the player who makes all three pieces of the snowman the most times wins the game.
