Instructions

  1. How to Begin

    • 1
Partini is played with at least four people, divided into teams.

Divide the group into two equal teams. Spread the 35 coasters face-down in the middle of a table. Place the deck of shuffled cards where everyone can reach them.

    • 2

Decide which team goes first. A member of that team picks a coaster from the pile and looks at the front to see which game it will play. Continue play until it is the other team's turn. The next time it is the first teams' turn, a new person will choose the coaster.

    • 3

Pick a coaster if you are on the second team. Take turns choosing the coaster when it is your team's turn.

    Bouncers

    • 4

Draw a Bouncer card if you chose the coaster. You are the bouncer. The other team selects someone to challenge you. Read the instructions on the card aloud. Set up your game cups as the card tells you.

    • 5

Turn over the timer. Compete with the challenger to complete the ball and cup activity listed on the card, before the timer goes off.

    • 6

Take the Bouncer coaster for your team if you win it. Put the coaster face-down back in the pile if you do not.

    Mime Twist

    • 7

Pick a Mime Twist card if you chose the coaster. You are the actor. Choose two of the three mimes twists to act out. The other team flips over the timer to start.

    • 8
Act out the mime twist listed on the card.

Announce the category listed on the card, and act it out without using words. Your team guesses what you are trying to act out.

    • 9

Act out two mimes successfully within the allotted time and win the coaster. Return the face-down coaster to the pile if you don't accomplish the task.

    Clay Smoothie

    • 10

Draw a card from the Clay Smoothie deck if you chose the coaster. You are the team sculptor. Choose two of the three smoothies listed on the card to sculpt. The other team flips over the timer to start.

    • 11

Announce the category listed on the card and sculpt it with the clay without using words or sounds. You may interact with the clay; for instance, if you are making a hat, you may put it on your head. Your team guesses what you are trying to act out.

    • 12

Sculpt two clay pieces successfully within the time limit and win the coaster. If you fail, put the coaster, face-down, back in the pile.

    Straight Up

    • 13

Hand out paper and pencils to the opposing team and the players on your team if you chose the coaster. You are the die-roller.

    • 14

Roll the die. Read aloud the sentence starter that is on your die face. They are: :I am," "I like," "I have," "I want," "I don't" or "I ... ." All players anonymously write a secret sentence about the die-roller that starts with the sentence starter. If the die-roller collects cars, you may write, "I want a new Jaguar." They may make it funny, long or whatever they choose.

    • 15

Collect the pieces of paper if you are an opposing teammate, and read the sentences aloud in this way: "My name is (die-roller) and I want a new Jaguar." The reader must not say the writer's name.

    • 16

Choose two favorites if you are the die-roller; the one that is the most accurate and the one that is the funniest. If one of them was written by the die-roller's team, that team wins the coaster. If both were written by the opposing team, it wins the coaster.

    What Not

    • 17

Draw a card from the What Not deck if you chose the coaster. You are the team clue-giver. Choose three of the five What Nots listed on the card to describe. The other team flips over the timer to start.

    • 18

Announce the category and give verbal clues about what the What Not isn't. Describe a hippo in this way, "This animal is not thin and it does not like to be dry." Use the word "not" in every clue. Don't use double negatives, and don't use any part of the word in your description.

    • 19

Describe three What Nots successfully within the time limit and win the coaster. Put the coaster back in the pile, face-down, if you don't win it.

    Hum Punch

    • 20

Draw a card from the Hum Punch deck if you chose the coaster. You are the team hummer. Choose two of the four Hum Punches listed on the card to hum. Choose a new card if you don't like the category. This may be done only once. The other team flips over the timer to start.

    • 21

Announce the category and begin humming. Hum only; you may not use actual words, but you may use "da-da-da," "la-la" and similar sounds. Gesture with your hands if that will help.

    • 22

Hum two songs successfully within the time limit and win the coaster. Put the coaster face-down back in the pile if you do not.
