Makeover Madness
In this game, the girls will give their partners a blind makeover. Provide each of three girls with blindfolds and a variety of makeup. Give the other three girls comfortable chairs; high stools work best. Set a timer for 10 to 15 minutes and give a verbal signal for the three artists to start making up their subjects. When the time is up, the blindfolds come off and the parents or older siblings can start judging the hysterical results. Remember to take photos!
Guess Who?
Fill a basket with about 25 names of actors, actresses, fictional characters, singers and historical figures. The names should all be ones appropriate to the level and knowledge of the group (third graders are not likely to know who Cyrano de Bergerac is, though a high school student may). Choose name cards from the basket and stick one facing out onto each player's forehead. Players can ask each other up to 20 yes-or-no questions to guess who they are. When a player guesses his identity correctly, give him a new card. The person who guesses the most right by the time the basket is empty of cards is the winner.
Treasure Hunt
One of the parents, siblings or other chaperones should set up the treasure hunt by hiding clues around the house. Each clue should lead to a new location in and out of the house (if weather permits) and a new clue. Divide the sleepover guests into two teams of three. Have them work together to figure out the clues and complete any required tasks along the way. The group that reaches the treasure of goodies after the last clue wins.
I've Never
Give each player 20 pennies, buttons or dry beans. Have the players sit in a circle with a shallow bowl in the middle. The game starts with one of the players announcing something that she has never done. For example, she might say, "I've never met a celebrity." For every confession of "I've never" the other players respond by doing nothing if they have also never done the action, or throwing a penny in the dish if they have done it. Turns progress around the circle until one player runs out of pennies. The player left with the most pennies at the end is the winner -- and likely the most innocent of the bunch.
