Cowgirl Dress-Up Relay Race
Divide the players into two teams and have them line up at a starting line. Mark a finish line about 20 feet from the starting line. Scatter several cowgirl clothes and accessories between the starting line and finish line. Use items, such as pink cowboy hats, sunglasses, overalls, purple flannel shirts and pink cowboy boots. Be sure you have two of each item. When you say, "Race," the first player in each team line has to put on one of each item and run to the finish line. On her way back, she has to take the items back off and place them on the ground. The next player must do the same thing. The first team to have all the players put on the items, run to the finish line and take the items back off, wins the game.
Stick Pony Race
Mark a starting line and a finish line about 25 feet apart. Give each party guest a stick pony, which are available at many retail stores and online. If you cannot find stick ponies, you can simply use large wooden dowels. Have all the guests line up at the starting line. When you say, "Go," the guests have to put the pony or wooden dowel between their legs and race to the finish line. The first player to ride her pony to the finish line and back wins the game.
Pink Boot Toss
Find two old pink cowboy boots at your local thrift store. Fill the boots with play sand and duct tape the top of the boots so the sand does not fall out. Mark a starting line and have all the players line up. The players must toss the pink boots as far as they can. Each player has two throws. Mark how far each player tosses the boots. The player who tosses the boot the furthest distance wins the game.
Hay Bale Obstacle Course
Create a hay bale obstacle course in a large, open space outside. Use items, like hay bales, hula-hoops, a swing set, trampoline, ropes, old tires and wood boards, to create the course. Make signs out of poster board to show the guests how to go through the course. Hang purple and pink bandannas all over the course to give it the cowgirl look. Divide the players into two teams and have them see who can complete the course in the fastest amount of time. You can also time each guest and have them compete individually.
