Adult Bar Birthday Games

Whether you're in a local bar or out barhopping for a friend's birthday, there are bar games that everyone can play who is looking to drink and have a good time. Games can be straightforward with written rules or they can be ones where you make up the rules as you go and improvise when necessary.
  1. Truth or Drink

    • This game is fun to play with friends as they are gathered together to celebrate someone's birthday. Each person starts with a full drink, and the person having the birthday goes first, asking another person a question. The person being asked can either answer the question truthfully or drink. The game continues around until each player has a chance to ask and answer. The questions can be related to any topic based on personal choice.

    I Have Never...

    • This game can be played with a group of people who are out at the bar celebrating someone's birthday. The person with the birthday begins by telling the crowd, I've never... (been on a cruise). Anyone who HAS been on a cruise must take a drink. The next person does the same thing, and those who have done what he said he hasn't done have to drink. Once everyone has had a turn, the person with the most left in her glass wins.

    Falter

    • Gather the party guests around a large table and play this drinking game that involves a deck of cards. Spread the deck face down in the center of the table. The guest of honor chooses the first card, and if he chooses a number card with 2 through 4, he can choose one person to give that many drinks to. If the number card is 5 through 10, he can split up the drinks and assign them to two people. If face cards are drawn, such as an ace, jack, queen or king, make up rules such as "Jack means you have to scratch your chin." Each time the particular face card is drawn, everybody has to do that, and if someone doesn't do it, she has to down a certain number of drinks for each face card missed.

    Quarter

    • Each person pours her drink into the same size cup, quarter of the way full. Fill another cup half full. Arrange the cups on the bar or pub table close together. Each person takes a turn bouncing a quarter off the table, trying to get it in into one of the cups. If the quarter goes into your cup, you have to drink. If the the quarter goes into the half-full cup, everyone must drink from his own cup; the last one to finish her drink and put the cup down has to drink from the half-full cup.
