Partini Directions

Those who are well-versed in party games may already be familiar with Partini. It bears a strong resemblance to Cranium, a game in which teams race against the clock to prevail over the other team in guessing what their teammates are miming, humming and drawing. Partini participants play one of six different games during each of their turns. Each team chooses a coaster from a pile, which serves as a prompt for which of the six games to play. If you succeed, you keep the coaster. The object of the game is to collect all seven coasters and win the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the 35 coasters face down in the center of the table or playing area. Each team draws a coaster, which indicates one of the following games: Mime Twist, Clay Smoothie, Straight Up, What Not, Hum Punch and Bouncers. A "wild card" allows you to play any game you like. If your team wins the game, you keep the coaster. The object of the game is to be the first team to collect all seven coasters.

    • 2

Form two teams with an equal number of players.

    • 3

Shuffle the cards and place them within everyone's reach.

    • 4

Decide which team goes first. A team member selects a coaster, and the team plays the game designated by the coaster. Each game has its own rules. Some games, like Straight Up and Bouncers, give both teams a chance to win. The winning team keeps the coaster, and the losing team goes next. If no one wins, the coaster is returned to the pile and the opposing team proceeds.

    • 5

Follow the rules of each game. The object of Mime Twist is to successfully act out two mime twists within the time allotted. The object of Clay Smoothie is to create two clay figures using the modeling clay provided, with your teammates guessing what they are. Rules include not speaking when molding the clay; however, the sculptor can "do things" with the clay. Hum Punch involves humming two songs out of four on the selected card from the Hum Punch deck; players on a team must guess the titles of the songs within the time given. Vocalizing of nonsense syllables is permitted, as is gesturing.
