Clown Games for Kids

Whether you're planning a clown birthday party or a get-together for a group of children who love clowns, be sure to plan a variety of games the kids will enjoy. With a few supplies and your imagination, you can create clown games to keep the children busy and prevent boredom. Awarding prizes, such as clown noses and clown-themed toys, to game winners will have the children lined up enthusiastically waiting for the next game.
  1. Clown Beanbag Toss

    • Draw a picture of a clown on a large poster board. Tape the poster to the bottom of a cardboard box. Cut out the clown's mouth, large enough to be able to toss beanbags through it. Lean the box up against a wall and mark a starting line about 10 feet away (adjust the line depending on the ages of the children playing.) Give each child five beanbags to try to toss in the mouth of the clown. Award a small prize to each child who succeeds in getting a beanbag in the clown's mouth.

    Musical Clown Noses

    • Scatter red, foam clown noses all over the floor. Place out one less nose than there are children. Play music and have the children dance around the noses. When the music stops, each child must grab a clown nose off the floor. The child left without a clown nose is out of the game. Remove one nose and keep playing. The last player who grabs a clown nose wins the game.

    Clown Plush Pass

    • Purchase a plush toy clown and have all the children sit in a circle. Hand one child the plush clown and play music. Tell the children to pass the clown around the circle while the music plays. When the music stops, the child holding the clown is out of the game. The last player left in the game wins the plush clown to take home.

    Ping-Pong Toss

    • Paint a clown face or put clown stickers on several red buckets. Line the buckets up and write the numbers 1 through 6 on each bucket. Have the children line up at a standing line about six feet from the buckets. Give the children six ping-pong balls to try to toss in the buckets. Tell the children to try to toss a ping-pong ball in each one of the clown buckets. Award prizes to the children who make a ball in the bucket.
