Captain Hook
Cut an a small hole in the bottom of a plastic cup and stick a candy cane through hole. The straight end of the candy cane should be on the inside of the cup. Place a bowl of pretzels on the table and have one child put the cup on his hand. Have him grab the stick end of the candy cane and use the hook end of the candy cane to pick up pretzels. Set 60 seconds on a timer and see how many pretzels each child can hook. The player who hooks the most pretzels in 60 seconds wins the game.
Pin the Treasure Chest on the "X"
Draw a picture of a map on a large poster board and use a marker to place an "X" in the middle of the map. Print or draw several pictures of treasure chests and write each child's name on one. Place double-sided tape on the back of each treasure chest. Blindfold each child and spin him four times. Tell him to try to pin the treasure chest on the "X." The player who pins the treasure chest closest to the "X" wins the game.
Gold Coin Treasure Hunt
Hide several plastic or chocolate gold coins all over the party area. Give the children a pirate-themed party-favor bag and tell them to find the pirate's hidden treasures. When you say, "Go," the party guests must search for the hidden treasure. The player who finds the most gold coins wins the game.
Walk the Plank
Place two or three boards on top of each other and have the party guests walk the plank. For younger children, make sure the boards are not too far off of the ground to avoid having them fall off. Challenge the guests to walk backward, hop on one leg and walk the plank blindfolded. Award prizes to all participants who walk the plank without falling off.
Pass the Cannon Ball
Purchase a toy cannon ball at your local party-supply or retail store. Have the children sit in a circle and hand one child the cannon ball. Play music and have the children pass the cannon ball around the circle. When the music stops, the player holding the cannon ball is out of the game. The last player remaining in the game wins a prize.
