Fun Group Games for Teenagers That Are Easy

When hosting a teenage birthday party or get-together, be sure to plan exciting group games to keep the teens interested in the party and prevent boredom. Group games break the ice for any unfamiliar faces and give teens the chance to make new friends. Awarding small prizes, such as stationary sets, gift cards and jewelry will keep the teens ready for the next game.

Forbidden Letter Game
- Have all teens sit in a circle and say a letter of the alphabet, excluding vowels. Select one person to go first, and then everyone goes around the circle in order. Each person must come up with a word that does not have the forbidden letter in it. Give each teen one minute to think of a word. If the teen cannot think of a word without the forbidden letter, he is out of the game. The last player to identify a word without the forbidden letter is the winner.
Flashlight Scavenger Hunt
- Play a game of flashlight scavenger hunt at night with a group of teens. Split the teens into groups of three or four and give each group a list of items. Include items such as a penny, a piece of candy, a ball, a leaf, a cloth and an egg. Hide several of these items around the party area or outside, and give each group a flashlight. The first team to find 10 of the items on its list wins the game.
Bottle of Dares
- Clean and dry a two-liter soda bottle. On slips of paper, write down several dares with points, such as do 10 push-ups for 20 points, sing the chorus to one of your favorite songs for 40 points, wink at another player for 10 points or do the chicken dance for 20 points. Put the slips of paper in the two-liter bottle and have the teens sit in a circle. Spin the bottle, and the player the lid of the bottle points at when it stops spinning has to take a dare from the bottle. She must get a dare from the bottle and try to complete it. If she completes the dare, she earns the points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Famous Couples
- Write down several famous couples' names, such as Adam and Eve, Romeo and Juliet, Barbie and Ken and Fred and Wilma Flintstone. Tape a name to the back of each guest's shirt. The teens must walk around visiting with other teens and asking them yes or no questions about their person to find out who they are. Once they find out who they are, they must find their "other half." The first couple to figure out they are a match wins the game.
