Creepy Halloween Games

Many people plan their Halloween party weeks and months in advance, so they can impress their party guests when they arrive on the big day. When planning a "spooktacular" party, be sure to plan creepy Halloween games for your guests. From a creepy costume contest to a guess that body part game, use your imagination to create games your guests will remember for many years.
  1. Creepy Costume Contest

    • When making your party invitations, tell your guests to dress in their creepiest costume. Tell the guests to make sure the costume has a mask, face paint or something that hides their full identity. The object of this game is to see who can guess everyone's identity first. Play this game when everyone at the party knows each other. Another twist to this game is to award prizes for the best and scariest costume.

    Scary Hide and Seek

    • To play a game of scary hide and seek, you will need a cell phone, landline and a dark play area. Select one player to hide first and give her a cell phone. She has two minutes to find a place to hide. Be sure all the lights are off and the play area is dark. Everyone will try to find the person hiding. Players can use small flashlights to avoid any trips or falls. She must call the landline and give clues to her whereabouts every two to three minutes. Whoever finds the hidden player wins the game and will hide next.

    Who is the Murderer?

    • Write down "murderer" and "detective" on a small square of paper. Then make several other small sheets that say "guest." Put all the papers in a bowl and mix them up. Everyone will draw a piece of paper and the detective will leave the room. The murderer and guests will mingle in the room until the lights go off. When the lights go off the murderer must quietly walk about the room and tap someone on the shoulder. That person must yell "Murder," and fall to the ground. Turn the lights back on and have the detective come back into the room. The detective must ask the "guests" questions to see if he can figure out who is the murderer. If the detective guesses correctly, he can stay the detective until he guesses wrong. Mix the murderer and guest papers back in the bowl and everyone draws again.

    Guess That Body Part

    • Place several food items in bowls to disguise as creepy body parts. Cover the bowl leaving only enough room for guests' hands to reach in and feel. The guests must try to guess what body part is in the bowl. Some ideas for body parts include cauliflower for brains, dried apricot for ears, a latex glove filled with water for a severed hand, peeled tomato for the heart, baby carrots for fingers and peeled grapes for the eyes. Award a prize to the player who guesses the most body parts correctly.
