Water Balloon Toss
Fill up several water balloons and store them in a large bucket. Tell everyone to select a partner, and give each team a water balloon. Everyone should stand about five feet from their teammate and face him. When you say "Toss," everyone must toss the water balloon to their teammate. If their partner successfully catches the balloon, the team is still in the game; if he drops the balloon or the balloon bursts, that team is out of the game. Players should be prepared to get wet, as each throw of the balloon threatens a big splash for the catcher! After each toss, both players must take one giant step backwards. The team that can toss the water balloon from the furthest distance without dropping it wins the game.
Water-Style Limbo
Use a water hose with a sprayer to play a game of water-style limbo. Have someone hold the water hose to create a spray of water. Players must go under the stream of water without touching it. They must bend backward at the waist with their heads facing skyward, trying to go under the water stream. If any part of a player's body touches the water stream, he is out of the game. Lower the stream of water after every player has gone under it, just as you would lower the stick in a traditional limbo game. The person who can go lowest without touching the water wins the game.
Slippery Balloon Pop
You will need two plastic kiddie pools and a bucketful of several balloons filled with air. Fill the balloons to maximum capacity to make them easier to pop. Divide the players into two teams. Mark a starting line about 10 feet from the kiddie pools. Fill each kiddie pool with water. Both teams will line up at the starting line next to the bucket of balloons. When you say "Go," the first player in each line will grab a balloon and run to the pool. She must put the balloon in the kiddie pool and sit on the balloon to pop it. Players can use their fingernails and hands to help pop the balloon. After the balloon pops, each player will run and tag the next player in line, who must do the same thing. The first team with all players popping a balloon and returning to the starting line wins the game.
Water War
Create a water war by filling several buckets with water and setting each one around the playing area. Place other buckets containing water guns, sponges and smaller pails around the playing area. Give each player a lid, such as a trash can lid or pan lid, to use for blocking as much water as possible from other players. When you say "Go," the players will run and grab the water toys and try to soak each other.
