Fun, Clean Games for 14th Birthday

Some 14 year olds may roll their eyes at the thought of playing games at their birthday party; however, many games are exciting and the teens will enjoy them more than they think. Use your imagination to create games that appeal to teens and will keep them interested in playing. Awarding prizes, such as gift cards and cash prizes to game winners, will encourage the teens to participate in the games.
  1. Sticker Game

    • Give each teen a sheet of 10 stickers when they walk in the door. Each sheet of stickers should be a different color or theme. Once all the teens have stickers, tell them the object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all their stickers by placing them on other party guests. If a party guest catches a player putting a sticker on him, he must take one of that player's stickers and take his sticker back. Teens can only place one sticker at a time on another player. The first player to place all of his stickers on other players wins the game.

    All Dares

    • Write down several clean dares for the teens to do before the party starts. Put the dares in a bucket or hat and have the teens sit in a circle. Dare examples include sing Happy Birthday to the birthday teen, jump on one foot for one minute, stand on your head for one minute and tell a joke. On each dare write a point value, less points for easy dares and more points for harder dares. Each teen will draw three dares and earn points for each dare she completes. The teen with the most points at the end of the game wins.

    Hum That Tune

    • Before the party starts, write down several well-known songs on small pieces of paper and put them in a bowl. Break the teens into two teams and have each team select a player to go first. The first team will send its first player up to draw a song out of the bowl. That player has to hum the song to his team and the team has one minute to guess what song he is humming. If the team answers correctly, that team gets a point. If the members fail to guess or answer, the other team can guess the song and earn a point. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

    Flashlight Candy Hunt

    • Hide several pieces of candy, such as jawbreakers or small pieces of colored candy in the backyard. Play this game in the dark and give each teen a flashlight. When you say, "Go," the players must use the flashlight to find as many pieces of candy as they can. The teens can put the candy in a small zipper bag or party favor bag. After the teens find as much candy as possible, they will count how many pieces of candy they found. The teen who finds the most candy wins the game.
