Race for the Can
Set boundaries around a play area so the players know where they run and hide. Be sure there are a few obstacles in the area for players to hide behind. Put a can in the middle of the play area and select one player to be "it." That player will stand by the can (covering his eyes) and count to 40. Once he yells, "Here I come," he will start searching around the play area for another player to tag. After he tags someone, both players will both race back to the can to try to kick it over. Whoever kicks the can is safe for the next round, and the other player is "it."
Get Their Flag
Divide the playing area into two sections and players into two teams. Give each team a different-colored flag (you can use a rag or small hand towel). When you say, "Go," each team will have one minute to hide its "flag" on its half of the playing area. After a minute, the teams switch sides and try to find the opponent's "flag." The first team to do so wins the game.
Tag With Color
Rope off a designated playing area and select a player to be "it." Players will stand around the border of the playing area, while "it" stands in the middle of it. When "it" yells a color, any player wearing that color must run to the opposite side of the playing area without being tagged by "it." If the "it" player tags a player, that player is the new "it." The object of the game is to avoid being "it."
Hide the Coin
Have all players hide their eyes indoors while you go outdoors and hide a small coin. Mark an area so the players know where they can look for the coin. When you say, "Go," the players run outside to search for the coin. The first player who finds the coin wins the game. You can make the game easier or harder by giving or not giving clues as to where you've hidden the coin.
