Sunglass Games for Kids

When planning a beach or sunglasses theme party, create several games to keep the children interested. Use your imagination to incorporate games that involve sunglasses to fit the party theme. Several pairs of sunglasses and a few supplies from your local party store are all you need to get started on a memorable party for your child. Awarding prizes, such as beach balls, inflatable flip-flops, seashells and beaded necklaces to game winners will have the children ready for the next game.
  1. Bob for Sunglasses

    • Purchase several pairs of cheap, plastic sunglasses that float. Fill a small, plastic swimming pool or large bucket with water. Write the number "1," "2" or "3" on each pair of the sunglasses and place them in the pool. Be sure the numbers face down, so players cannot see them. Make three prize bags labeled "1," "2" and "3" and fill each one with an assortment of beach-related goodies. Let each party guest put her hands behind her back and select of pair of glasses from the water --- using only her teeth. The player will select a prize out the bag with the corresponding number from the sunglasses.

    Sunglasses Ice Break

    • Take several bowls large enough to fit a pair of sunglasses and fill each with water. The night before the party, place one pair of sunglasses in each bowl and freeze overnight. On party day, divide the guests into teams and give each team a frozen block of ice. The team players will use their hands, feet and even the ground to try to extract the sunglasses. The first team to get the sunglasses out of the ice block --- and a player wearing them --- wins the game.

    Relay Race

    • Fill two beach bags each with a pair of sunglasses, straw hat, beach-themed shirt and shorts. Divide up the players into even teams and give each team a bag. Mark a line about 15 feet away from the starting line. Both teams need to line up at the starting line and the first player in each line will have the beach bag. When you say, "Go!," the first player in line will put on the clothing and accessories from the beach bag. He will run to the line that is 15 feet away and run back. Then he must remove the clothes and the next person in line will go. The first team to complete the race and put the items back in the beach bag wins the game.

    Sunglasses Hunt

    • Hide several pairs of cheap, plastic sunglasses all over the party area. Give each guest a beach-themed favor bag to put the sunglasses in when she finds them. When you say, "Go!," players will run around and try to find as many pairs of sunglasses as they can. The person who finds the most pairs of sunglasses wins the game.
