Things You'll Need
Instructions
Make a list of items that you want the participants to find in the scavenger hunt. You can choose any items you want or you can choose items that center around a theme. For example, if you want to plan a beach-themed scavenger hunt, then include items such as sunscreen, a beach ball, a beach towel and a pail and shovel on the list. Since the scavenger hunt is in the backyard, you can also include items on the list that are in the backyard already, such as a garden hose nozzle, a watering can and a patio chair cushion.
Make a copy of the list of scavenger-hunt items for each guest that will be participating in the game. Either make copies at the local copy store or print the sheets from your computer.
Gather the items that are on the list.
Hide each item around the backyard. You may want to place a checkmark next to each item as you hide it so that you include all of the items that are on the list. You should hide the items on the scavenger hunt list a few hours before the party starts or the day of the party --- especially if you are hiding items that are not typically stored outside in your backyard.
