How to Do Heart Shapes With Your Hands

Whether the game is charades or shadow puppets, no one wants to be the party guest (or host) who can't make the right hand shapes. If you're usually the one having trouble, stick to making simple shapes until you're comfortable with your finger coordination. Hearts are among the simplest of hand shapes and are useful in a variety of situations.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold your hands in front of you so that your fingernails face you. Touch the tips of your thumbs together. Close your fingers so that they resemble mitts more than gloves. Move your elbows out toward your sides while moving your hands together so that the tips of your index fingers meet. You should now see an upside down heart. Flip your hands downward so that the heart faces right side up.

    • 2

Cup your hands in front of you as if you're holding a pile of sand in them. Fold your fingers downward toward your palms. Twist your wrists so that the tips of your fingernails on your left hand touch those on your right hand and the heels of your wrists meet. Hold your hands in front of your face with your knuckles facing upward to see a heart.
