Chinese Gift Exchange Instructions

A Chinese gift exchange, while it has no specific Chinese origin, is a game that is played to swap gifts. It is particularly popular during the holidays because it is a simple way to give gifts without having to spend a lot of money. Everyone must bring a gift for it to work properly. Set a limit, like $20 per gift.

Instructions

  Tear the paper into pieces. There needs to be a piece of paper for each gift.

  Write a number on each piece of paper, starting at one. Fold each paper after you write the number.

  Put the papers in a bowl.

  Pass the bowl around the group. Each person draws a piece of paper. This is the order people will choose gifts in.

  Start with number one. The person chooses a wrapped present and unwraps it.
- 6
  Continue with number two. The person can choose a wrapped gift, or steal the unwrapped gift. Do this until all the presents are gone.
