Instructions
Balloon Popping Race
Line up two teams of children at one end of the room and a pile of balloons at the other end. Make sure there are at least as many balloons as children.
Tell the children they have to run, one at a time from each team, to the other end of the room and pop a balloon by sitting on it. Then they must run back to their team and tag the next team member who will run to pop the next balloon and so on.
Shout "GO!" when the children understand the rules and are ready to start. The first team to have each popped a balloon in the required manner are the winners. Popping a balloon by sitting on it can be fun, especially for small children. As they are not very heavy it may take them several attempts to pop a balloon in this way.
Make the game more interesting for slightly older children by putting some obstacles for them to get past before they reach the balloons, or make them throw dice until they throw a double six before they are allowed to pop their balloon.
Balloon Kicking Game
Tie a balloon to both ankles of each child.
Inform the partygoers that they must burst the balloons on the ankles of the others.
Tell them that they must do this by kicking the balloons. Emphasize that they must kick the balloons and not aim for ankles, which will result in disqualification.
Eliminate game participants along the way as soon as both of their balloons are popped. The winner is the last partygoer who is left with at least one inflated balloon on his ankles.
