Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set up the ladder stand on sturdy ground and then decide the distance from which players will be tossing the bolas. This is the toss line, and it is generally 15-feet away from the ladder. You can change the distance depending on the age group playing.
Assign teams and toss a coin to decide who will go first. Whoever goes first will toss his bolas to the ladder attempting to wrap the bola around a step on the ladder. Then the second player will toss her bolas to the ladder and the round will end.
Players will remove the bolas from the ladder steps and count up the points he or she earned for that round. An extra point can be earned by getting all the bolas on a single step or getting them all on different steps. The highest number of potential points can be earned by getting all the bolas on the top step and earning 10 points. Only bolas still hanging on steps at the end of a round count towards the score.
Whoever got the highest number of points in the first round will go first on to the next round and continue the game. When a player gets exactly 21 points for that round, he or she wins the game. If a player has 19 points coming into a new round and throws a bola on the top step, earning three more points, he will go over the required 21 points, and none of the points earned for that round will count. That player will start the next round back at 19 points.
If a tie occurs, when both players reach 21 in the same round, the two players that tied will continue playing rounds until one player is at least two points ahead of the other.
