ABC Bible Game
Play this game at your Sunday school class or with a youth group. Write out the ABC's on index cards (one letter for each card). Hold up the "A" card to the class and tell them to say a word about God that starts with this letter. Each child must raise her hand to answer. For "A", a child could say "awesome," and for "B," the child could say brave. Award each child who comes up with a creative answer a small prize.
Story Draw
Hang several sheets of butcher paper on the wall. Tell everyone to listen carefully, and read a story out of the Bible. After the story, allow everyone to use pencils, markers and crayons to illustrate the story they just heard. It is interesting to see how people see things differently. After everyone has finished, compare all the drawings and talk about them among the class.
God or Parents?
Do this activity as a group and have everyone voice their own opinions. Write down on index cards several things children encounter on a daily basis, such as problems, bullies and homework. Read aloud a comment such as "You were bullied at school today." Ask everyone if they would take the problem to God, to their parents or to both. Let each person have a chance to speak and voice his opinion.
Fruit of the Spirit
Find a plush fruit or foam piece of fruit and have all players sit in a circle. Give one player the piece of fruit and have her pass it around the circle. While passing the fruit around the circle, play Bible songs. When the music stops, the person holding the fruit has to name one of the nine fruits of spirit. The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. If the person names one, she can stay in the game. If she does not know one, she is out of the game. Play until only one player remains or until only a few remain and award small prizes to those players.
