Black Cat Treasure Hunt
Come up with clues to lead the players from one spot to the next. Cut black cats out of construction paper. Write down the clues on each cat using a white or silver pen. Hide the clues and give the first clue to the players. Have the last clue lead to the treasure: a stash of Halloween candy at the end of the treasure hunt.
The Black Cat and Her Kittens
The black cat is chosen from the group and leaves the room. The rest of the players sit around a table and put their heads down. The adult leading the game taps a third of the players on their shoulders, designating them as the black cat's kittens. The black cat is blindfolded and brought back in. The kittens begin to meow until the mother locates them. The first kitten to be found is the black cat for the next round.
Cats and Sardines
This game can be played in a house with the lights dimmed to make it spookier or outside at dusk or in daylight. Players count to 100 while one child, who is the sardine, hides. Everyone else is a cat and looks for the sardine individually. As each cat finds the sardine, they turn into a sardine and squeeze into the hiding place. When the last cat finds the hiding place, it pretends to eat all the sardines and they run away. In the next game, the last one to find the sardine becomes the next sardine.
Pin the Cat's Face onto the Pumpkin
Cut out the features of a cat, the mouth, two eyes and a nose (with or without whiskers), from a piece of black construction paper and stick a reusable adhesive to the back the features. Blindfold each child, one at a time, send them toward the pumpkin and have them stick the different parts of the cat's face onto the pumpkin. Take a picture of each child with her pumpkin.
Cat Costume Contest
Have the kids dress up as different kinds of cats, from jungle to house. Judge them based on their costume and best set of cat noises.
