Candy Scavenger Hunt
For a candy scavenger hunt, you need to find different types of full-size candy bars. Get one bar of each type for each girl at the party. Hide the candy bars around your yard and in your house, using only the rooms you plan on keeping open for the girls. Give each one a list that includes every type of candy bar hidden. The first girl to find all her candy is a winner, and each girl receives her found candy as a prize. For older girls, divide the group into two teams and hide only two of each candy bar. Give them hints to identify the candy, such as its slogan or when it was invented. The girls not only need to find the candy, but also identify which goes with each clue. The team with the most correct answers receives a goody bag or prize.
Shopping Mall Scavenger Hunt
Divide the girls into two teams and assign each team an adult chaperone. Arm the girls with a digital camera and a list of things to see, do and find around the mall. Ask the teams to bring back specific items for the scavenger hunt, such as a makeup sample, napkin and job application. Require the teams to take photos of themselves doing other things, like posing with a security guard or hugging a mannequin. The team with the most items on the list or the first team to complete the hunt, wins.
Store Scavenger Hunt
A store scavenger hunt is different from a mall scavenger hunt because the girls do real shopping. Divide the teams into two groups and give each group a list of items to find in the store. Include items for the sleepover, such as candy, chips and ice cream, but also include items you need around the house, like garbage bags and milk. Give specific brand names and prices for all items on the scavenger hunt list. The winner is the first team to get to the register with all items in their cart.
