Photograph Scavenger Hunt Ideas

Photograph scavenger hunts can liven up a large party by bringing in elements of competition and teamwork. Two teams of at least two people will be required to play these scavenger hunt games. You will need a digital or instant film camera. Digital cameras are preferable because you can take many pictures.
  1. Find Me

    • Wander about town and write a list of specific things you find. Ask the teams to find each item and take a picture of it. List items could include: statues, buildings, bridges, graffiti, tree carvings, carvings on benches, signs and other items that you know for certain will still be there.

    ABC Photo Hunt

    • This photo scavenger hunt is appropriate for all ages. Tell each team to get a photograph of something that represents each letter of the alphabet. Make the game harder by setting a theme or restricting each team to a particular place. For example, one team's theme could be downtown, while the other team's theme could be parks.

    Subjective Hunt

    • Give each team a list of ideas to photograph that could be left mostly to interpretation, then judge which pictures best depict the ideas. For example, the list could include: a family of animals, the most relaxing place, something big, a car everyone wants to own, the funniest thing ever, something beautiful, something gross, something everyone loves and something everyone hates.

    Girl's Night Out

    • Write a list of dares for each team to complete and stipulate that the completion of the dares must be photographed. The losing team can treat the winning team to drinks, ice cream or pizza. Dares could include: individual photos of six guys and their phone numbers written on the back, photos of a team member kissing the cheek of or dancing with men of the ages 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60, a photo of a team member and a stranger who looks like her and a photo of each team member doing something they have never done. Make sure to keep the dares safe.
