Fall Harvest Party Game Ideas

Autumn is a time to settle down and cool off from the summer. But, the fun doesn&'t have to stop once summer is over. A good way to have fun in the fall is to throw a harvest party. It&'s not too hot or too cold to have fun in this season. So there are many kinds of different party ideas to keep your guests occupied.
  1. Bean bag toss

    • "Bean bag toss" is an easy and fun game that just about anyone can play. You will need to draw a large pumpkin with a face (eyes, nose and mouth) on a piece of cardboard then cut it out. The mouth of the pumpkin will also need to be cut out. The pumpkin will need to be hung somewhere bean bags can be tossed through. The party guests are to toss two or three bean bags at the pumpkin, aiming for the hole of the pumpkin&'s mouth.

    Ring the pumpkin

    • "Ring the pumpkin" is a common game played in the fall. Three large pumpkins with stems are used for this game. You will also need three to five plastic rings, the size of which will make the game easier or harder; smaller rings make for a more difficult game while larger rings make the game easier. A throwing line is marked on the ground which guests are never to cross while tossing the rings. The throwing line&'s distance depends on what age group you have. Each guest takes turns trying to ring each pumpkin stem. Little children can also play this game with hula hoops to make it easier on them. They can also have a closer throwing line if you wish.

    Bobbing for apples

    • "Bobbing for apples" is a very popular game in the fall season. This activity consists of a bucket or tub of cool water with apples floating in the water. Each guest is to get on their knees in front of the tub and without using their hands, try to take an apple out of the tub using their mouths. Towels are needed so that guests can dry their heads off.

    Sack race

    • A "sack race" is a competitive outdoor game guests can play. Mark a starting line and a finish line. Make sure the area of the race is flat. Each guest will need a laundry bag or burlap potato sack to step inside of. Have each guest start at the starting line and hop their way to the finish line. The first person to get to the finish line wins the race. If their are smaller children participating, have them use pillow cases for sacks instead of laundry bags or potato sacks.
