Dinner Party Games for Girls

You can have a dinner party for girls of any age. Along with the meal itself, you can also plan games to be played. Dinner party games can be simple or more elaborate. Dinner party games help the party stay entertaining and can be worked into the meal itself.
  1. Murder Mystery

    • Murder Mystery games are available for purchase at your local toy stores. You assign a character for each of your party guests. Because you are throwing a party just for girls, some of the girls will have to be male characters. Before the party, let the guests know that the dinner party will be a mystery. The girls are given a description of their character and asked to come in costume. One of the guests will be the murderer, but no one will know who until the end of the party. At the party, you read a scenario that lets the guests know who was murdered. For the rest of the meal, and after dinner is done, the girls are able to ask questions to help identify the murderer amongst them.

    Italian Bistro

    • The Italian Bistro is an ongoing game throughout dinner that allows guests to order their food as if they were in Italy. Before the dinner party, you will need to determine your menu, including any condiments or sides that you will have with the meal. Write your menu out using the Italian words for each item. You will also want to include on the menu the spoons, forks, knives, napkins and all condiments. If you do not know Italian, you can look the words up. Do not put the menu in a particular order. Mix up the condiments, entrées, silverware, appetizers and desserts. When the girls arrive, provide each girl with a copy of the menu that is all in Italian. Have the girls choose what they want for the appetizer, entrée and dessert courses. Since the guests will not know what they are ordering, it will be interesting to watch your guests&' reactions when they receive their first course. They may receive butter, a napkin and a bowl of soup or spaghetti, tiramisu and a knife. If you want to make the meal easier to eat, have bread or carrot sticks on the table for every course. If you prefer, you can base your meal and menu on a different culture and language.

    Message Under the Plate

    • Playing Message Under the Plate is a way to keep the conversation lively. Before the meal, place a note card under each girl’s plate with a phrase on it. The phrases should be something that can be said naturally but things you would not normally hear in everyday conversation. For example, "rabbits have the fluffiest tails" or "I’m a ninja." Have the girls read their note cards before the meal begins, but do not share the statements with the other girls. During the meal, each guest must find away to work her phrase into the conversation. The other guests should try to determine when a phrase is used. The girl who identifies the most phrases correctly wins.
