Instructions
Make the Game Board
Cut out a piece of sturdy cardboard that is at least 4 feet by 4 feet. Determine the size of your board by the number of people attending your party or carnival.
Cut three to five round holes in your cardboard game board, big enough for bean bags to be tossed through and not so large that every contestant wins the game.
Paint your cardboard game board. Opt for a simple, solid color, or choose a thematic element to go along with your carnival. For a school event, paint around the holes in the game board to make it look like bean bags are being thrown in the mouth of the school mascot.
Cut two holes in the top corners of your game board. Tie one end of the rope through each hole. Allow some slack in the rope to create a handle for your game board. Hang your game board by the rope handle from the top of your booth.
Make the Bean Bags
Cut scraps of heavy material, such as felt or canvas, into squares measuring 7 inches by 7 inches. Cut two squares per bean bag.
Sew each side of the two squares together with the wrong sides out. Leave a small opening on the final side to allow you to turn the bag inside out and fill it with beans.
Turn the bean bag inside out so that the right side of the fabric is now on the outside. Fill the bean bag with the desired amount of dried beans or rice and then sew the opening closed.
