Sleepover Games for 14-Year-Olds

A sleepover helps bring friends closer together through a night filled with fun and games. When planning for your sleepover, you want to keep your friends entertained as you all try to stay up past your usual bedtimes. Luckily, many types of games are perfect for a 14-year-old's sleepover.
  1. Talking Behind Your Back

    • If you need to get your sleepover guests to start talking, try this icebreaker. Hand out a piece of paper to every person in the group. Have each player write her name on her paper as lightly as possible. Turn the papers over and tape them to the respective players' backs so you can't see the names. Give each person a writing utensil and tell everyone to start mingling. As people begin talking to one another, everyone will write a short statement about each person they talk to on that person's paper. Remind everyone to refrain from mean comments. Once everyone has received comments, have your guests take off the papers from their backs. Place the papers on a table so that the comments show, and have everyone guess which papers belong to them.

    Telephone Charades

    • A perfect sleepover game for 14-year-olds, "Telephone Charades" combines a kids game with a classic adult party game. Before the party begins, come up with multiple charades ideas and write each of them on a separate slip of paper. Place the slips in a bowl. Line all of the players up, one in front of the other, with the first player facing one direction and the rest of the players facing the opposite direction. The first player picks a charade from the bowl and taps the player behind him on the shoulder to turn around. After he acts the charade out for her, the second player then taps the next player in line and acts out her perception of the charade. This goes down the line until the very last player guesses the charade. You'll laugh to see how distorted the charade becomes after the second-to-last player acts it out. Continue playing until you run out of ideas.

    Zap

    • To get out of the house for a bit of exercise and excitement in the dark, play Zap. Get two flashlights and give them to two players. As in "Hide and Seek," the two players have to count to 30 seconds while the rest of the players hide in the back yard. After 30 seconds, the two players use their flashlights to "zap" the other players. If a person gets zapped, he takes the person's flashlight and becomes the new "zapper," allowing the old zapper to seek a hiding spot in 30 seconds. The game ends whenever you like.
