Things You'll Need
Instructions
Buy two ice cream makers that are simple enough for young people to handle, plus any ingredients needed for ice cream. Healthy goodies to add to the ice cream will help the game be more nutritious---the more berries and nuts you add, the less sugar is needed to create a satisfying flavor.
Set up a two card tables in a room without a carpet or outside. If you play an ice cream parlor game in a room with a carpet, it will be more damaging if ice cream drips on the floor, as it is wont to do.
Create survey cards for a team of adult judges. The cards will have different categories, such as "creamiest ice cream," "grossest flavor ice cream," and "prettiest color ice cream."
Decorate the room in an ice-cream-parlor theme with the help of the youth playing the game. Create menu boards from white boards for the ice cream flavors and a parlor-like table-and-chair setup for the judging panel.
Have participants divide into two teams, each armed with an ice cream maker and ingredients of its choice, and let the ice cream parlor competition begin. There will be no absolute winners; rather, each team will earn best-in-show in different categories.
