Things You'll Need
Instructions
Shred newspaper into strips. Mix in the bucket three parts glue, one part water until a thick paste is formed. Three cups of glue and 1 cup of water will suffice.
Dip newspaper strips in the glue mixture then layer the strips over the outside of the cylindrical bin or bucket, including the base, four layers at most. Let dry overnight.
Place another four layers of shredded newspaper that have been dipped in the glue mixture onto the cylinder. Make a papier-mâché disc that fits the top of the open end of the bin or bucket. Take the flat board (an old cutting board is fine) and cover it with four layers of newspaper dipped in glue. Let dry.
Take the papier-mâché "cast" off the bin or bucket. This forms the piñata in the shape of a beer can.
Paint the outside of the piñata so that it looks like a beer can. Use the covered end of the can as the top of the beer can, and the open end as the bottom.
Thread twine onto the needle and sew two loops into the top of the beer can, tying the loops off securely inside the piñata. These will be used to hang the piñata.
Fill the beer can piñata with wrapped candy. Seal the piñata by taking the separate disc you made and gluing it to the bottom of the beer can piñata̵2;do this with the piñata on its top so that no candy is glued to the bottom. Hang the piñata.
