Two Truths and a Lie
Two Truths and a Lie will get your teen guests talking with no preparation, according to the Great Group Games website. Have one teen tell the group two statements that are true and one that is false without revealing which are which. Everyone in the group votes on which statement is false. The people who guess correctly gain a point. The process continues until every guest has made three statements. The teen with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Name and Number
The Name and Number game should allay worries that the teens won't remember one another's names during the mixer. Gather enough index cards for every guest and write sequential numbers on them starting with 1. Give each arriving guest an index card and have him write his name on the blank side. Tape the card to the front of the guest's shirt so the name shows. Tell the guests to mingle for 10 to 15 minutes, as suggested by the Party 411 website, then line up the guests and have them flip the cards to reveal the numbers. Give each teen a piece of paper and something to write with and ask them to list the names by the numbers of all the guests. The teen who guesses the most names correctly wins.
Guess the Food
To play Guess the Food, suggested by the Savvy Source website, cut some familiar foods into enough small pieces to accommodate all of your guests. Blindfold the players and sit them down. Let everyone have a taste or smell of the same food at the same time. The first teen to guess the food correctly wins that round. Whoever has the most points after the last round wins the game.
