Time Capsule
Create a time capsule to commemorate the four years of school leading to graduation day. Ask each senior to contribute an item to place in the time capsule. Memorabilia can include school sweatshirts, copies of the school newspaper, yearbooks and test scores, as well as meaningful personal items like photos and letters. Bury the time capsule and set a date in the future (such as the first class reunion) to get together, open the capsule and reminisce.
Scavenger Hunt
Have the seniors embark on a scavenger hunt to collect treasures representative of their school experience. Include school themed items such as varsity jackets, pictures of players in front of the school, yearbooks, graduation caps and textbooks on the list of items to gather. Plan the scavenger hunt ahead of time and map out locations that will be safe and accessible to players.
Photo Opportunity
Set up photo opportunities like those you would find at a carnival or theme park. Have a printer or copy shop make life-sized enlargements of pictures of the school mascot or favorite teachers and administrators (with their permission, of course). Place each image on foam board, cut out around the edges and stake in the ground for students to pose for silly pictures with these special party guests.
Memory Box
Create a memory box for each guest using empty tissue boxes wrapped with decorative paper. Provide pen and paper and have students write down their favorite memories of each other to fold and stick in the slot of the memory box. This is a nice keepsake for each guest to take home and re-read over the years.
Giant Yearbook Signing
Hang several pieces of poster board on a wall and scatter pictures of the students about the posters using tape or glue. Instruct seniors to consider this a giant yearbook page and sign the "wall" just as they would their classmates' yearbooks.
Graduation Trivia
Split the seniors into teams and have them answer questions about things they learned in high school. Use both academic questions (Who wrote "Macbeth"?) and social questions (Who was captain of the football team during sophomore year?) to create a fun and challenging trivia game.
