Harvest Ice Breaker Games

A harvest-themed party is great for a get-together for special occasions in the fall, whether it be a birthday, baby shower, housewarming, back-to-school or girls' gathering. But sometimes icebreaker games are needed if you have a guest list consisting of people who aren't very familiar with each other, especially at showers, engagements or housewarmings. Try some of these easy-to-organize harvest-themed icebreaker games.
  1. Fruits &Veggies Game

    • One of the symbols of harvest time is all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables that are ripe in the autumn. Prepare a list of a dozen or 15 fruits and vegetables, one for each guest, suggests FreePartyGames.com. Print out sheets with the name of each printed on the same sheet a dozen or 15 times, again, as many times as there are guests. Print or draw lines in between for easier tearing. Each guest is given one fruit or vegetable and told to gather the rest of the set from the other guests. They must tear strips bearing the food item's name off their sheet for each guest who asks, keeping one for themselves. You can combine this with the requirement that they must exchange names and other information about themselves before receiving the slip of paper, in order to add a level of getting to know each other to the game.

    Who Am I?

    • This is a classic party icebreaker that can easily be adapted to a harvest-themed party. Upon arrival, each guest is given a nametag, which is pinned to their backs so they can't read it. On each can be written a vegetable, fruit or grain that suits the harvest theme, or perhaps a fall color, a tree that drops its leaves, or even a book, movie or song title that makes some reference to harvest time. Choose one of these categories if it will be your only icebreaker or use a few categories for larger groups that you would like to divide into smaller groups for further games and have all the vegetables, trees, or books stand together at the end. To discover their nametag, they must ask yes or no questions of the other guests until they figure out what it says.

    Harvest Scavenger Hunt

    • A new twist on an old icebreaker game is to hand each guest a list of information to find out about the other guests, according to given numbers. Assign each guest a number at the top of their list and have the questions refer to guests by their numbers. For example, guests must find out the name of number 7 or number 12's favorite color. You can turn this icebreaker into a harvest party game by including questions about fall foods, holidays, farming or nature.
