Drawing Blindfold
This game involves handing out blindfolds, a crayon and a blank sheet of paper to each child. It's best if the party room doesn't have carpet, as the children will need to sit on the floor and use it as a table. The object of the game is for each child to draw a picture while blindfolded, and the best drawing wins. Instruct all the children to draw the same picture. Choose something that is in theme with the party. If it is a Thanksgiving party, they can draw a turkey, for a Valentine's Day party a heart and for a birthday party a birthday cake. The drawing blindfold game isn't just for kids, adults can play too.
I've Got a Secret
"I've got a Secret" is entertaining, while being a life lesson. Begin by writing a phrase. It might be one, two, three or more sentences long, depending on the age range of the party group. Have the children line up or form a circle. Whisper the phrase into the ear of the first person in the line or circle. That person will then whisper the words to the person next to her, and then that child will pass on the whisper. After the whisper moves through the group, the last person will repeat the whisper out lout to the entire group. Typically, the children are amazed at how the "story" changed as it passed along.
Writer's Collaboration
Utilize the group's creative energy by writing a short story, one word at a time. This works best if an adult leads the game and has a large poster board and felt tip pen. Have the children sit in a semi-circle around the adult. The children take turns submitting one word for the story. The adult writes down each word, followed by the next, creating a silly sentence or sentences.
