Good Question Games to Play With Friends

If you're having a party and don't feel like another movie-watching or sitting-around-doing-nothing affair, it's best to have some games ready. Question games are a fun way to let you and your friends show off your comic side and are easy enough for everybody to play.
  1. The Question Game

    • A children's game that is often used in improvisational comedy, the question game is fast-paced and fun. Have two people stand up next to each other. The first person must ask a question and the second person must respond in the form of a question. For example, the first person could ask, "Are you going out tonight?" and the second person could respond, "Isn't it supposed to rain?" after which the first person could respond, "Don't you have an umbrella?" and so on. When a player delays for more than a few seconds in response or to not respond with a question, that player gets replaced by a new player. This game can go on as long as you wish.

    Twenty Questions

    • Possibly the most popular question game, twenty questions can be altered in many ways to cater to your friends. The basic premise of the game is that one person comes up with a person, place or thing, and everybody else has to ask yes or no questions to determine what that person has chosen. You only have twenty questions to guess it. Some fun variations are picking only people that you know, picking celebrities, or picking something specific to your group of friends.

    Crazy Questions and Answers

    • Have your group of friends sit around in a circle with markers and sheets of paper or index cards. Each friend will write a question on one side of the paper. Collect all the paper, shuffle it around and hand it back out to the group. Each friend will then write the answer to the question they created on the back of the new paper. Collect and shuffle the paper again before handing back out. Each friend will then read the question and answer on their card. The questions and answers will be ridiculously mismatched and funny.

    Character Advice

    • Have three of your friends get up in front of the rest of the group and pretend to be different characters. For example, one could be a crazy zoologist while one could be the self-proclaimed best pilot in the world. The rest of the friends can ask advice questions of the three characters, like "Do you think David likes me?" or "What do I do about my snoring brother?" and they will answer the questions in character. Whenever doing improv comedy, you can get some wild, unexpected answers.

    Human Ouija Board

    • You can play this game with an actual Ouija board, but it might not be nearly as fun. Have the person who is "it" lie down in the middle of the group. You will pretend that the person who is "it" is a Ouija board and that you want to ask a question to the paranormal spirits. Ask a question and your friend must answer it like he or she is a ghost of some kind. The goofier the answer they give the better. Make sure everybody gets a turn.
