Truths and Lies
This mixer game requires the players to share facts about themselves. Each person shares two true statements and one lie. The other players have to determine which statement is false. The person making the statements wants to make it as difficult as possible for the others to guess which one isn't true. Each person gets a chance to state her two truths and one lie.
Dating Game
This game is a modified version of speed dating. Each person needs a paper plate or a circle cut from paper. Draw 12 lines around the edge of the circle to resemble a clock but without the numbers. The players schedule a date for each hour on the clock. Each person can only schedule themselves for one date per hour. Once everyone is scheduled, the dates take place. Call out each hour on the clock. The players meet with their date they scheduled for that hour. To make it fit into the party time frame, each date only lasts a few minutes similar to a speed dating situation. After the time has passed, the next hour is called out and everyone meets with their dates for that hour. Continue until all 12 dates are finished.
Sort and Mingle
This group game allows the guests to get to know one another better. There are two different ways to play the game. The sorting game divides the group based on preferences. Give a statement with two options. For example, the statement might be your favorite flavor of ice cream with the two options being chocolate and vanilla. Everyone who likes chocolate goes to the west side of the room and everyone who prefers vanilla goes to the east side of the room. You can break it down further by adding two additional flavors and assigning them the north and south sides of the room. The players can either stay in their current location or move to the north or south side if those answers are a better fit.
The mingling game requires the players to find people with similar answers. You can use the same type of answers. In the ice cream example, you would simply ask the guests to pick their favorite type of ice cream with no limit to the possible answers. The guests mingle and find others who have the same answer to form a group. Give the players a set amount of time to find their groups. At the end of the time period, each group shares its answers. Each group should have a different answer if the players mingled well.
