Guess Who I Am
The Guess Who I Am game is a great icebreaker for guests and will get them talking and interacting throughout the party. Write the name of celebrities or public figures on index cards. As each guest arrives, tape an index card to their back. Guests will then have to help each other figure out their "hidden identity" by asking each other yes or no questions and taking guesses. Once the guest figures out who they are, they can wear their index card on the front of their shirt.
Charades
Charades is an interactive game that guests of all ages can participate in. It is usually a big hit, and most people will know the general rules. Write down several things to act out on little pieces of paper, and place them in a hat. Split guests into teams, and let everyone take turns choosing charade topics from the hat to act out.
Name That Tune
You'll need a CD player and some CDs or iPod with speakers to play this classic game. Play a short refrain of music and challenge guests to guess the artist and song title. Award points to the person who guesses correctly the fastest. Highest point winner gets a party favor, or the title of "Music Master" for the evening.
I Never....
The I never game is a fun way to loosen up party guests and allow them to get to know each other. It is a drinking game, but can be played with non-alcoholic beverages as well. Everyone sits around the floor or a table, and one guest starts out with a true statement beginning with "I never..." Example: "I never had sex on an airplane." Anyone who has done the deed must drink. Lots of laughs and hoots and hollers will usually result. Guests then take turns making "I never" statements around the circle.
