Trivia Game
If the celebrated couple has been married at least 10 years, prepare sheets of paper with a list of the traditional wedding gifts and ask each guest or pair of guests to identify which traditional gifts match to each year of the couple's marriage.
True or False
No matter how new or old the marriage, is you can play a memory game by writing down several facts about the couple's wedding day plus several falsehoods and let guests play "True of False" as everyone recalls memories of the special day.
Word Games
A word search puzzle can be created by hiding words that are meaningful to the anniversary couple into a grid of random letters. Examples of words to use are the wedding date, number of years they have been married, the wedding location, names of the people in their wedding party, parents and children.
Word scramble may be the easiest type of word game to play. Simply supply guests with a list of important words whose letters have been mixed up and let guests unscramble them.
Pass the Wedding Gift
Pass the wedding gift is played similarly to musical chairs. Guests sit in a circle and music is played while a gift is passed around. Whoever is holding the gift when the music stops must open it. If you are celebrating a 10-year anniversary you might have 10 small gifts. Since this game is meant to be somewhat ribald, if you are celebrating a long union you might choose just a handful of gifts and say they represent the couple's "happy years." It is best if the gifts somehow relate to the couple's life, work or hobbies. The type and quality of the gift can be adjusted to the sensibilities of the guests, but they are usually meant to be slightly embarrassing.
Dance Contest
Play music that was played at the anniversary couple's wedding and invite guests to show off their best dance moves. The anniversary couple can crown the winners from categories such as "worst dancer," "smoothest couple," "best solo," and "most dangerous."
