Set a Shopping Challenge
You and your friends should agree upon a set budget, for example, $30. Drive to everyone's favorite thrift store in town, split up and go shopping. Drive back to your house, friends in tow, crack open a bottle of bubbly and have everyone perform in an impromptu fashion show to determine who has the biggest dose of shopping savvy. Think about the scene in the "Sex and the City" movie where Carrie models her wardrobe and her friends say "yay" or "nay" on the contents of her closet---but with everyone participating!
Strike a Pose
If you spend Sunday afternoons curled up with your favorite fashion rag analyzing every editorial photo, poring through the details, wondering what it would be like to be a part of that creative process, take the reins and make yourself art director of your own fashion shoot. Bring your friends together and take turns styling hair and makeup; pool everyone's wardrobe assets together and take turns being photographer. Allow whoever is starring in the shoot at the time to direct; it's not every day that you get the chance to be a supermodel, and everyone should be able to live out her innermost model fantasy. Have fun and be creative; let the imagination of a little kid shine through. The result will be memories made and photographs that you'll treasure for years to come.
Dream Away
Grab a friend and a fresh lotto ticket and go to the stores that you wish you could shop at (and will shop at if that lotto ticket comes through). Even if you don't try anything on, spending the day with a friend and a $1 ticket is plenty of fodder for dreams. One of the major components of fashion is fantasy, so run with it, touch the fabrics and imagine the "someday" as your definite future.
